Installing Knauf Earthwool Insulation Batts:

We will share how Insulation Extract treats every project when Installing Knauf Earthwool insulation batts. While it is a fairly straightforward process, we ensure the insulation is installed to AS3999 Insulation Standards. This is the regulatory requirement when installing insulation.

Here's a step-by-step guide to help you understand what we go through with the installation works at your Perth Home:

Step 1: Measure and Plan

Before we start, we either via google maps measure the ceiling area accurately, or have a team member from Insulation Extract come out for a free site and measure to determine the quantity of insulation batts needed. We also measure the width of the joist spaces to ensure the installation has complete coverage without compression, or gaps.

Step 2: Safety First

While there is no harm in handling the eco friendly insulation our team still wear appropriate protective gear, such as gloves, goggles, and a mask, to avoid irritation from debris inside your ceiling space.

Step 3: Prepare the Area

We need to ensure the area is clear from dust, debris, so we can complete a clean install. Check out Removing Insulation or Ceiling Vacuum services we offer to prep the area to maximise your return on investment.

Step 4: Unroll the Batts

We carefully unroll the Knauf Earthwool insulation batts and lay them evenly between the ceiling joists, ensuring a snug fit without leaving gaps. They can be laid over a certain rated ICD LED downlight.

Step 5: Cut and Fit

We usually use a sharp utility knife to cut the batts to fit around obstacles like wiring or vents. making sure we avoid compressing the insulation to maintain its effectiveness.

Step 6: Cover the Entire Area

We continue installing the batts until the entire ceiling area is covered, maintaining a consistent layer of insulation throughout the ceiling space.

Step 7: Seal Air Leaks

We do a final inspect for any gaps or openings and seal them with appropriate materials to prevent air leakage.
